Since January 1, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has required that clinics provide outcomes data reporting to secure federal funding through Medicare and Medicaid. Reporting is required on two Core Sets of quality measures: the Core Set of Children’s Health Care Quality Measures and Core Set of Adult Health Care Quality Measures, which aim to measure and improve the overall national quality of care for enrollees.
Each Core Set includes a range of physical and behavioral health quality measures. State outcomes reporting has been optional historically, but in August 2023, CMS announced that reporting on all measures of the Child Core Set and the behavioral health measures on the Adult Core Set would become mandatory in 2024.
While requirements differ state to state, adherence to antipsychotics for people living with schizophrenia is a major reporting qualification in the 2024 Adult Core Set.
Genoa Healthcare can help you meet and report on your CMS outcomes data by:
- Offering proactive adherence reporting: Genoa partners with over 500 behavioral health and other specialty clinics across the U.S. to help their consumers get – and stay on – their medications. We provide clinic partners proactive, real-time Proportion of Days Covered (PDC) reporting for antipsychotics, and all other medications – and have done so for years. Current partners can visit Med Analyzer or contact their Genoa Director of Pharmacy Operations or Site Manager to collect consumer adherence reporting.
- Helping you ensure funding for your center: Genoa’s strong adherence rates make it easier for you to meet and report on requirements, which can help ensure your clinic receives its CMS funding. Beyond that, partnering with Genoa can help you strengthen your grant requests, and, if your clinic is eligible for the 340B Program, we can help you maximize your opportunity and boost your savings.
- Improving access to medications and long-acting injections (LAIs): Genoa’s nationwide network of 700+ pharmacies can help secure your clinic access to limited-distribution medications and drug savings. Our teams can fill and administer LAIs, where allowed, and provide your team and consumers prior authorization support, financial assistance and adherence calls.
- Providing dedicated, on-site reporting support: With Genoa, you have a dedicated, on-site partner to support you through CMS reporting. Reach out to your clinic’s pharmacy team or pharmacy liaison if you have any questions as you submit your measures.
