Healing through art: Genoa’s annual Art Celebration

Sep 16th, 2024

Each year, the Genoa Healthcare® Art Celebration celebrates consumers, their talents and the healing power of art. The 2024 Art Celebration received a record number of over 1,600 submissions. That’s 1,600+ chances for consumers to share their talents, be vulnerable and feel comfortable enough being themselves with their pharmacy team.

The Art Celebration also provides a way for our consumers to share stories about what art means to them.

For some, creating art is a way to relieve stress. “Art is a creative outlet for me. It reduces stress and anxiety and helps me relax,” says Genoa consumer Lori T. For others, art can be a way of expressing their emotions. Genoa consumer Rebecca W. says, “Art is a necessary part of my life, a language I use to speak directly to my emotions.”

Art can also be a way to escape from reality and engage in the world of creation. “When I am anxious or nervous I can go to my art and escape,” says Genoa consumer Mac S.

We want to thank everyone who submitted their art and stories to Genoa’s 2024 Art Celebration. To help celebrate those who have submitted their artwork and stories to us, we have created a digital art gallery that features almost 300 pieces of artwork and three dozen quotes submitted to us during this year’s Art Celebration.
