Making Strides in Mental Health Awareness with NAMIWalks

Oct 26th, 2022

Genoa team members across the country have been walking in support of mental health through NAMIWalks events this year. NAMIWalks is an event that takes place in different states across the U.S. to raise awareness for and combat stigma surrounding mental illness. It’s also an opportunity to raise money for the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) – an organization dedicated to providing mental health resources and fighting stigma.

Genoa’s involvement in NAMIWalks helps employees connect with the community and advocate for the people we serve. It also helps organizations like NAMI continue to provide resources for those who need it most.  Genoa teams have already raised more than $30,000 and continue to participate in more than 26 walks nationwide.

“Being involved in my community and with NAMIWalks is just one small way that I can bring awareness to mental health,” said Kentucky Pharmacist Lindsey Wright, who recently led a walk with her team. “I love being involved with the fundraiser because the cause directly helps people we serve on a daily basis.”
